Join Minette Batters, farmer, former President of the National Farmers' Union and author of the recently published Harvest, for a timely conversation about farming, food and the future of rural Britain.
Drawing on a lifetime in agriculture, Minette will reflect on the experiences that shaped her, the challenges facing farmers today, and the vital role that food production, environmental stewardship and rural communities play in national life. In conversation with Edward Bickham, she will discuss the themes of Harvest before taking questions from the audience.

Minette Batters is a farmer, businesswoman and one of the most influential voices in British agriculture. She served as President of the National Farmers' Union of England and Wales from 2018 to 2024, becoming the first woman to hold the position in the organisation's history. During her tenure she represented British farmers through a period of significant change, including Brexit, the Covid-19 pandemic and major debates over food security, trade and environmental policy.
Alongside her national work, Minette runs Barford Park Farm in Wiltshire and has long championed the importance of sustainable food production and thriving rural communities. Her recently published book, Harvest, combines personal memoir with reflections on the future of British farming and the challenges of feeding the nation in a changing world.
